Efficient protein extraction from cells and complex mammalian tissues is essential for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based proteomics analysis used in early diagnostic biomarker and drug discovery studies.

As mammalian tissue samples are rigid, they often require mechanical disruption together with detergent treatment to extract proteins from the complex extracellular matrices and break open cell membranes to release proteins. With the BeatBox, PreOmics® offers a revolutionary system for fast, easy, and reproducible tissue homogenization for any kind of proteomic sample preparation workflow.

Although detergents support protein release, most are incompatible with the proteomics sample preparation workflow downstream and need to be removed prior to MS analysis. The iST and iST-NHS kits include workflow-compatible detergent for protein extraction and complete reagents for proteomics sample preparation.

The iST all-in-one kits not only simplify and speed-up proteomics sample preparation, but also achieve increased sensitivity and reduce sample loss for reliable and reproducible workflows – even without expert knowledge. The respective PreOmics® sample preparation kits offer a high degree of flexibility from single sample applications up to 96-well format in a protein range of 1-100 µg.
